Bloodwych Install Notes.
Installing Bloodwych:
Simply start the "Install Bloodwych" script and follow the instructions.
Bloodwych will be installed in a drawer named "Bloodwych".
If you do not want to look at the intro picture, you can simply delete the
"TEST" file.
It would seem that only some versions of bloodwych has the TEST file. If your
version is not one of those you will get an error message when installing
(could not find intro pic), but the game will still work fine.
Installing Datadisk:
This installs a little different - no drawer will be created by default.
This is because I think the best place for it is in the same drawer as
bloodwych. That way you don't need to copy your bloodwych savefiles to
another dir.
You can ofcourse install it somewhere else, you'll just have to create the
directory yourself.
You will need a bloodwych savefile (bloodsave0-9) in the same drawer as the
game before you can play it. Or you can load it from floppy.
Sharing savefiles:
The save/load routine for the hd version has been replaced to allow you to
save 10 games instead of just one.
There are some special tooltypes you can set for the bloodwych games, which
allow you to transfer saved games from/to floppy/hd.
CUSTOM1=1
If this is set, the gameloader will not be patched.
CUSTOM2=1
Similarly, if set, the gamesaver will not be patched.
By mixing these tooltypes, you can transfer saved games from floppy to hd
and even back again.
For example: To import a saved game from floppy, set CUSTOM1=1. Bloodwych
will now do all game-load operations from disk, but still save to hd.
If both CUSTOM1 and CUSTOM2 is set, you will not get any hd-saving/loading
features.
Note: When loading/saving to floppy you will have to press ENTER instead of
RETURN.
